I missed this show (as well as the review in a timely fashion) but saw his work in an earlier exhibition two years ago. I believe the works I saw then might've been strictly in acrylic and lacked this (newfound?) sense of atmosphere. Even still (without the oil), the structure is incredible not just as a perspective element but as a surface element as well. The simple act of layering is made to be amazing.
Greg compares Edwards to George Lucas's backdrops from the early Star Wars trilogy.
